Website Use
This static website does not ask visitors to create accounts or submit personal information through web forms. It may generate ordinary server logs through the hosting provider. External services linked from this site, including Westlaw.ie, JSTOR and HeinOnline, operate under their own terms and privacy policies.
Submissions and Editorial Correspondence
If authors, reviewers, book-review correspondents or others contact the editors by email, the information in their message and any attachments will be used for editorial administration and related correspondence.
Personal data processed in connection with submissions may include names, email addresses, institutional affiliations, postal addresses where supplied, biographical information, manuscripts, reviewer reports, editorial correspondence, conflicts information and publication records.
Purposes and Legal Basis
Personal data are processed for purposes connected with receiving, assessing, reviewing, editing, publishing and administering journal submissions, book reviews, editorial correspondence and website queries.
The usual legal basis is the journal’s legitimate interest in administering and publishing an academic legal journal. Where processing is necessary for contractual or pre-contractual dealings, or for compliance with a legal obligation, those bases may also apply.
Recipients
Submission and editorial information may be shared with editors, members of the editorial board, peer reviewers, publishers, copy-editors, typesetters, archive or database services, and professional advisers where this is necessary for journal administration, publication, indexing, archiving or legal/compliance purposes.
Retention
Editorial correspondence and submission-related records may be retained for as long as reasonably required for editorial administration, publication record keeping, indexing, archiving, dispute handling and related legitimate purposes.
International Transfers
Because academic publishing, indexing, archiving and email services may involve providers or reviewers outside Ireland or the EEA, personal data may in some cases be processed or accessed outside the EEA. Where required, appropriate safeguards should be used.
Rights
Individuals may have rights under data protection law, including rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction and objection, subject to applicable limits. Requests may be sent to editor@irishjurist.com.
